I thought Memorial Day was an appropriate time to promote this. At the Shoot this year we will again be holding a fundraising Calcutta for the Never Forgotten Honor Flight. Thursday June 13th 3:45 PM at the the Super Pigeon Ring. We hope to again have a Hip shooter on each team. Free beer for spectators and those done shooting. Come on out support a great organization , have a beer, see some great shooting and have some fun!!!! https://neverforgottenhonorflight.com

That's a great cause. I recall speaking with my Uncle George, the last survivor of my 5 uncles who served in WWII, not long before he passed away. He told me what a great experience he'd had going on the Honor Flight.

I am acquainted with a Gentleman who has done a lot of work in my area for the Hono Flight. He himself is a retired Sgt Major from the Army but is too young for WWII. One uncle of mine made one of the flights & have had several older friends who went. All have thoroughly enjoyed it had a great time & truly appreciated the opportunity. A Great Cause Indeed.

The Honor flights aren't just WWII vets. Had a friend that's a Korean war vet that went during one of the government shut downs. They moved the barricades and went in anyway. Everyone I have talked to that has gone said it was a special moment. At the Great Northern watching Steve and Terry shoot from the hip and keep up with everyone else is something to see!

Mark; You are correct it does include Korean vets. I did not mention that as most of the ones I know who have gone were WWII vets, I believe that all the ones I knew who went are now deceased. The Sgt Major I mentioned is younger than me & I was too young for Korea. My Wife's Step-Father served in the US Navy in both WWII & Korea but he passed away during Christmas week of 1998. I do not know when these Honor Flights began but if they were going on that far back none of us had heard of them.

They've been doing it here for 11 years. Thanks and God Bless all of them and those that served. Jolly
