Ithaca 16 gauge Hammerless SN 91919-- water table marked 91919 and S- barrel markings on top rib near breech Nitro Powder Steel- 28" uncut DT, EXT- field stock with black logo Ithaca BP-- Is this a predecessor to the Flues-- Guessing it has shorter 16 gauge chambering- barrels ring, choked M&F and barrels are clean and clear- no black powder pitting-- What series and what is aprox. DOM for this older Ithaca? RWTF

Should be a Crass model, made 1903, followed by the Lewis, then the Minier, and then the Flues in 1908

I learn something every day, and a lot of times it's that what I learned the day before was wrong

james-l beat me to the serial number identification. The side of the action should have bolsters on it and the number of visible screws differentiates The Crass from the Minier and Lewis.

Here's a pic of a Minier I have for reference:

Actually I am unable to remember right now whether my gun is a Lewis or a Minier???

The serial number listing on our "other useful information" section shows my gun to be a 1902 Crass. However due to the four screw frame, I think its either a Minier or Lewis model.

Geo, your picture is a Lewis. A nice one. Lewis (4 screws) numbers start at 55000 in 1901. Minier (3 pins or screws) models start at 130000 in 1906.
