....on barrel lug. (Damascus barrels - s/n 3671xx)
Have this 1900 passing through my hands. Came in for a transfer to its new owner.
I have only owned a couple of Remington SxS shotguns but the had the choke markings done with pellet count. When did Remington switch to using the CYL & MOD terminology?

I'd guess the markings were after market or the gun was back to Remington Arms-Union Metallic Cartridge Co. to be rebarreled in the teens. A quick look at my pictures shows guns in the 380xxx serial number range with pellet counts.

Which means pictures are required. I'll pull it apart and snap a couple. BRB

I will pull out my Skeets bore gauge tomorrow and see if the current chokes match the markings.

I'm going with the rebarrel theory, but that is all it is.

Dave,
Any markings that would show a return trip to the factory?
Or lack of markings? I ask this, as the rib has no marks at all. This may be the norm, but I haven't looked at a 1900 in a long time and my image searches didn't turn up much.
Bores and Chokes:
Rt: .733" - .003" Lt: .730: - .015"
Appears someone may have wanted a bit more than CYL in the right barrel. Bores are bright and shiny and the exterior is a very nice black & white.
All metal was very dry. Pulled the stock and forend and a coat of oil and some bronze wool really made a difference. Was concerned about the bores as they were very, very dirty, but a single pass with a bore snake brought out the shine.
Had clearly been stored for a long, long time. The other four guns from the same estate were the same condition.

I have seen a couple of Model 1894s that had Remington Repair codes on the barrel flats, but those date codes didn't start until 1921. So, any gun done by Remington Arms-Union Metallic Cartridge Co. (1911-1916) or The Remington Arms Union Metallic Cartridge Company, Incorporated (1916-1920) wouldn't have them.
All speculation. I know I have seen a couple of other Remington Hammerless Doubles with choke designations rather than pellet counts, but can't lay my hands on a picture at the moment.

Dave,
Good information, thank you.
Enough to satiate my curiosity. Should go to its new owner by the end of the week.

Dave, Owner decided to consign it for sale. While photographing it for listing, I noticed matching marks on all three assemblies. Either "188" - or - "88T" This could be completely common on Remington 1900's, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Those extra numbers which some refer to as "assembly numbers" seem to be pretty common on Model 1900s. The number here is 2282 but my poor photography skills makes that a bit hard to read.
