If you want to see concentrated wealth and power look at Socialist and communist countries. When everything is controlled by the party you end up with extreme concentration of wealth and power with zero opportunity for upwards mobility. I�ll pay my taxes for my little share of what I have.

It does annoy me when others who do nothing seem to be doing just as well. I put five kids through college and two through medical school and they could not even qualify for a free parking pass. It was like in school when I got 100�s and the �dunce� got promoted every year. Same outcome, both high school graduates until he had no skills to make a real living. The kindness of social promotions allowed him to graduate high school with zero chance to make a decent living. Today he is living on workers comp or early SS disability. A life spent with no future, just a day to day getting by.

KY Jon, Mandatory military service for all can't work. We could never absorb that number. Mandatory national service of some kind could be great. I wish we had the political will to do it. As for the military, the draft would make it lots fairer. If kids from middle and upper class families served, we'd be a lot less inclined to take on interventions we don't need or can't win.

No Bill, not really, and you can check with SKB on this. Very few of us can rely on the graces of the ultra rich to shower us with money, but I doubt you or I could create the jobs that could put a meaningful amount of folks to work. I wouldn�t quite say you folks are outright fibbing, but weren�t the �tax cuts� that are not going sunset, corporate?

How else, Bill, would you bring that money back home to give joe average American the chance to work for that ultra rich ceo/owner? Would you prefer if some foreigner had that cash to horse trade with you for a rifle or commission SKB to do a slick restoration? But of course, that foreigner would be spending US corporate money in their country, eh?

To John Roberts: Yes, there is socialism. It includes public schools, your fire department and police protection, the roads and bridges you drive on, etc etc. What is your quarrel with these things? For everyone to pay for those services every needs or deserves is not a bad thing. It's called civilization. If you aren't comfortable with it, emigrate to Yemen where it doesn't exist.
