What's the likelihood of a stock being able to be straightened once it's been bent? Specifically, a bend good for a left handed shooter being straightened back to neutral.

Pretty good. It's a stock that has already proven it can be bent. I would have no extra concerns about it.

Pretty good. It's a stock that has already proven it can be bent. I would have no extra concerns about it. Thanks. I've seen some nice guns for very low prices because they are only appropriate for a very narrow market. If the bends can be reversed without too much trouble or cost, then the gun is more viable for more shooters.

The stock can still likely be bent, but original "cast on" likely came from original stock layout, not a previous bending.

I have bent a cast on for a friend to make it cast off successfuly but you are taking a risk. My experience, at the hobby level, has been that some stocks just don't bend. I have been told by a reputable gun smith that he will leave a difficult gun on the bender for a couple of days under heat to accomplish the task. I have never tried this and I question that it works.
So many guns, so little time!

Mike Orlen has bent several for me and others. He modertaes the gunsmithing forum on Shotgun World and has a price list posted.

I've done it myself and with the right piece of wood, I will do it again. I built the jigs and it wasn't too hard. I used some notes that I believe came from Mike Orlen. It was not hard to do.

I shoot lefty and have had several stocks bent from cast off to cast on. Standard procedure and I am about to have the stock on my Atkin 'adjusted'. I will ask DES to do the work, based on past experience with his work.
