Well, there is so, so much clutter of my musing, & other good info mind you, on the Lindner - Daly threads that I had the idea of making a single thread for each set of initials. Come one, come all. If you are the custodian of a Lindner - Daly, Golcher/Kuhn/Josef Jakob(U.S. of A. James Purdey), etc. which wears the tubeset knitter initials of JW(probably a Wolf mechanic?) please post any info and with that which Lindner Quality Control stamp it wears(either Crown over Crossed Sidearms or HAL over Crossed Sidearms) along with Country of Origin Stamp, if any. And any images would be just lovely. Seems that JW might have contributed the bulk of the tube effort in the transition period?
J.W. initials on Lindner - Daly(Crown over Crossed Sidearms & HAL over Crossed Sidearms) seemingly active in the 1890s -
1st Lindner - Daly series(Probably all Crown over Crossed Sidearms) - Nr. 3646, 3994
2nd Lindner - Daly series(Probably all HAL over Crossed Sidearms) - Nr. 264, 439, 604?, 676, 766, 792, 933
Many thanks for any contribution or effort.
Cheers,

I'm going to say that the preponderance of evidence for the tubeset knitter's initials of JW to be assigned to tube specialist Julius Wolf of Zella-Mehlis. I realize that some Germans would say that a Suhl maker would source components from the lowly Zella-Mehlis mechanics.
Below are other JW mechanics but not truly possibilities:
I did not find a J. Wagner of Suhl listed. Julius Wahl - Zella-Mehlis - mid 1920s Johann Gottgetreu Werner - Suhl - mid 19th Century Julius Werner - Suhl - 1910 Josef Wilhlem - Zella-Mehlis - tube mechanic - 1930s Julius Will - Zella - Mehlis(a small probability)
It is possible that H.A. Lindner placed an order w/ a Suhl Wolf mechanic who in turn sourced Juluis Wolf.
Like other Lindner subcontractors, Julius Wolf hung out his gunmaking shingle in 1879. Christian Wolf may have been in the mix & Adalbert Wolf was a possible successor. Anyway, Julius Wolf touted a specialist for Ausfüttern(inserts), Futterläufe(full length liners?) and Läufe für Scheibenwaffen.....
Other possible mechanics found their calling near the founding of H.A. Lindner's concern.
August Blatt(AB) of Suhl-Albrechts could reach back that far & his talent was centred around Gewehrteile und Metallwarenfabrik.
Emil Eckoldt(EE) of Suhl founded his concern in 1876 and was noted as a specialist for repairs and I believe his passed this life in 1930.
Almost forgot Albert Stobb....
And of course there are several more....

Lindner- Daly Nr. 3xx w/ tube number 560, Crown over Crossed Sidearms, Made in Prussia around Charles Daly around the large A&D Body Action screw. Possibly an outlier?
Lindner - Daly Nr. 1670(hammergun), Crown over Crossed Sidearms, JW initials.
Lindner - Daly Nr. 17xx, 10 bore(hammergun), Crown over Crossed Sidearms, JW initials

All of these H.A. Lindner subcontractors, including Karl Streng & Co., seemed to be specialists in the field of tubes, tube harmonics, etc. & that the term "Mehrlaufgewehre", or multi-barrel weapons, is associated w/ their name. Then again, what else would expect concerning H.A. Lindner as he would not have applied his Quality Control Stamp to his wares had it not have been so. And Charles Daly assumed so.....
