I'm having a bit of trouble deciphering these proofs.

Proofed at 1 ton
Then serial number
The stylized R should be a date code but i can't find it in my proofs book
Backwards P with a star is the proofer's mark
The next is the walking lion over PV which means nitro proofed but my books says found in rifles and pistols. Is it also in shotguns after a certain date?
Then the Back Powder Definitive proof
Then 12 ga with 2.75 chambers

The way the proof is laid out is like a set of Parker barrels I have that were made in Belgium by Armaf Dagun in the 1950s. Contoller code Q is for Dewild Gaspard who worked 1952 to 1968, I wonder if the year code is a Greek letter (maybe rho) which would be 1958, note that it also has 70mm chambers.

I learn something every day, and a lot of times it's that what I learned the day before was wrong

Thanks skeettx. I would never have read the h and q without help and I was not looking at the kg which is correctly weight not tons pressure.

Lettres Annales (Date letters): control (proof) date stamped after manufacture (and not necessarily the year of manufacture.)

French lower case cursive

Controller's (inspector's) marks can not reliably be used to date a gun; they were re-used and the significance of many has been lost to a fire at Banc d'Epreuves de Liege . I believe PeteM posted the fire was in the 30s.
