I had some interest but read about mag conversions that can be trouble some. I ecided not to bid. Do any of you recognize if this is a gunsmith conversion or commercial ? need to throw bolt home with some force doesn't sound right .

I don't know enough about all the different alternatives to the original door for the Krag. I do know that there were several

As to the business of "throw the bolt home with some force", I think the seller is putting a round in the chamber and trying to close the bolt on it. He should be feeding the first round from the, I want to say magazine, but spool is probably more appropriate.

Thank you. I thought Krag’s had a mag cut off to allow single cartridge loading directly into chamber ?

I would agree that it reads like they are trying to force the bolt over the cartridge rim rather than feeding it out of the magazine.
