Has anyone had the top rib of a 100 20 ga. off to know if they are hollow or solid. Thinking about doing a Churchill profile rib. MKII

I have not had one off, but I have weighed my 20 gauge Ithaca SKB 100 barrels and they are very light, even compared to my english guns. Based on that I suspect that the top rib on mine, at least, is hollow. But that is just my guess.

I also have a 1970s vintage Ithaca SKB 200E 20b, which I believe it has a small middle bead, and I think that recall that I took that out years ago and probed with a wire and concluded that the rib on that one was hollow. But I might be thinking of a different gun, I'll look at it tonite and confirm.

Thanks, most guesses so far are hollow. May have to take it off to check for sure.

As I recall, the Ithaca SKBs were supposed to be black chromed instead of blued.

Not quite sure what the "black Chrome" was, but apparently different than rust or hot blue.

Thinking that might create an issue reattaching the ribs. ??

Some were Black Chrome but many were not.

This set is in the white, only now being fit to an action.

My SKB 200E 20 ga. rib is not black chromed. It is blued steel.

Sorry , but I don't know the answer to your question, Mark II.
