On the hunt for a 32" (or longer) hammer gun. Fluid steel barrels preferred with 2 3/4" chambers. Barrels must have tight chokes. All makes considered, but English and Prussian preferred. Must have at least 14 1/2" LOP and not be stocked with less than 2 1/2" DAH. Must be tight and very good or better condition. Must be a true pigeon gun configuration weight ....... 8 1/4# - 8 1/2#. No project guns please.

I know I'm looking for a needle in a haystack, but that's plum alright.

I can be contacted by p.m. or at stanhillis@gmail.com

Thank you for your consideration.

SRH

Stan, look at item #1605 in the upcoming James Julia auction. It won't be cheap, but may sell for under its true value. It is a 32" gun, proved for 1 1/4 ounce loads. It weighs just under 8 pounds, several ounces heavier than a normal Purdey pigeon gun.

I will do that, Bill. Thanks for the tip. I haven't had time to look through that auction's listings. But I will.

All my best, SRH

Whoa!! Estimated pricing puts that one way out of my range. Ahhh, it's a straight grip anyway. I've got to have a pistol grip to handle 1 1/4 oz. loads the way I like.

Beautiful Purdey. I really enjoyed reading the description of it.

SRH

Stan, that's the gun I told you about the last time. It belongs to a friend of mine. I might be able to get you a couple of hundred off if intrested.

Stan I got a Royal steel barreled 32 inch hammer LC Smith but you probably want higher grade. Bobby

Only 30", and a little light, but with original 3" chambers and Whitworth barrels:

Looks like a nice weapon.

I would buy that Cashmore and imagine the last two inches of barrel. A real English pigeon gun, and $5995.
