I purchased a Lang keylock recently and have been looking for more information on this unique feature. The recent Atkin, Lang and Grant book barely mentions it, and I've been unable to locate my DGJ indexes for a complete search of back issues...

Has there been a DGJ article covering the keylock? Any other good sources of information?

This was a bit of a grail gun for me, so without my DGJ index, I've manually combed through over 100 DGJs and have found squat on the Lang Keylock...

I bump this again, hoping that someone here has a bit more info than I on production years (1910-1920?) and production numbers...

An actual key is placed into a slot specific for that key in the lock plate of a sidelock and then turned to either unlock (for removal) or to lock (when placing/securing) the locks, I.e., for removal and replacement. It's a novel idea which replaces a screw seen on most sidelocks. However, if one loses the key.......then you have a problem. I've often wondered if the keylock was a sort of gimmick to compete with the Holland and Holland hand detachable lock??
