I have a quantity of the old Hercules Blue Dot. Has anyone any loads for 28 gauge, by the burning rate it should be a possibility but I dont want to try and work up a load if someone has already got a good recipie

Go to the Alliant website and you should be able to find a 28 ga load for Blue Dot. It will work but is not the best choice for that gauge with 3/4 once.

you can also find a few in the lyman shotshell reloader book.
better with 7/8 ounce loads for field use.

There are plenty of good loads published by Alliant for Blue Dot in 28. They are lower pressure than normal 28 gauge target loads, but they should work fine and get the stuff out of the house. My not current Alliant manual doesn't list Blue Dot loads in the CF AA, probably because of lower than desired pressure, but they may list one for the new AA hull.
