I broke the rear sight on my ruger no.1, drifting it off to fit a scope. I now want to use it with open sights. Are all the ruger sights the same ? Would one from a 10/22 fit ?

When your eyes reach a certain age that question will no longer be pertinent. Open sights go with young eyes; old eyes require scope sights. Its worth trying the 10/22 rear site...Geo

Somewhere or other a few says ago I saw a Ruger No.1 with an aperture sight and it looked a pretty neat looking job and I find as old as I am that I can shoot ok out to a hundred metres with an aperture sight which I have on one of my little Martini's in 357Mag. Much better sight picture, a lot also depends on the front sight which I changed to a finer blade.

That's been my one complaint on the Ruger #1. The rear sight, and it's location. I wish they could come up with a sight that sits closer to my eye, and not so far forward!
