If someone here knows of a used set of dies in this caliber, I'd appreciate hearing of them. Brass, too, would be of interest. Thanks.

About 40+ years ago, I stupidly traded off my R-2 highwall & brass. Somehow I still have my old seating die and a sizing die that has lost its decapping pin assembly. If you can use them, e-mail me with your mailing address and I'll throw them in the mail for you. They are free and looking for a loving new owner. OLUT (WGLOWE@TDS.NET)

Contact Double Eagle Pawn shop in Deer Park, Wa. (509) 276-7760 They have been selling of the estate of Dr. Paul "Ned" Ross who was an avid small bore shooter. They had over 140 rifles among them were several Griffin & Howe rifles available in R-2, .22 Hornet and .225. Dr. Ross was "addicted" to shooting & reloading... there were over 50 presses and they have boxes of dies, brass and other related items. Ask for Everett, he is the person in charge of selling the estate. I don't work for them, but have been a long time customer and was given access and was able to purchase his extensive library and a few rifles for myself. Good luck. Ben

Can't help you with dies (looks like Mr. Lowe has you covered), and I can't help you with brass directly but I can steer you toward Captech (Jamison) brass. They provide parent .25-20 Single Shot brass that is quite good if a bit salty in price. Still in all it's the best source of brass for the Lovell wildcats. I use it to keep my single shot Krag .22 Maximum Lovell fed that I got from Whitey (RIP) a few years ago- and it's excellent quality stuff.

William Lowe, I couldn't make your email address work but sent you a PM. I hope to hear from you. Thanks to all of you for your assistance. I'll try Everett too. This board is such a helpful service. No single person with nothing else to do could ever amass a fraction of the wealth of knowledge and experience that's available here.

Bill, address received .... I'll take the dies down to the post office tomorrow and mail. They are RCBS dies, so the .22 caliber decapping assembly should be easy to replace. Enjoy them. ...... OLUT (Bill Lowe)

I returned home Wednesday from a deer trip to the Missouri breaks to find a package from William Lowe containing a set of R-2 Lovell dies. I want to recognize here his thoughtful generosity. My thanks to him and to all who responded to my request. PS: The dies arrived on my birthday. How's that for timing?
