We are going to a conference in Paris in early December for a week and i wondered if there are local shops that i could visit. The conference is in the center of the City near the Sorbonne and our hotel is two blocks, Rues, away. There will be mornings and evenings when we are free and i thought it would be nice to see some French SxS or O/Us.
Thanks, John

Here are two
1. CENTRALE DE FUSIL D'OCCASION. 6 Rue de GRENELLE 75007 PARIS Tél: 01 45 49 17 88. Not sure the current status—I do not know if he/they speak English (Left bank—8-12 blocks from the Sorbonne)—Usually has a few Darnes--very nice walk from the Sorbonne
2. Saillard Fauré-le-Page; 8 Rue de Richelieu 75001 Paris Nice sporting goods store Near the north side of the Louvre
There are several others--need to look at my notes but I am on travel
Best

Google with "Armurerie Paris",than you can see most of. The best one is Armurerie Èlysèes, 6Rue de Commandant Rivière.

Language will likely be a problem, but you can have a good time looking.

Many thanks to all. We have a presentation on one of the 6 days we will be in Paris, so these shops are on the list along with the Louvre, Notre Dame, the ET, the Museum of Natural History along with, time amd weather permitting, Versailles. I would love to shoot a round of clays if there was a course within reasonable distance. Are there?

Unfortunately, Saillard Fauré-le-Page no longer seems to exist. I had visited it many times in the past, admired the rifles and shotguns on display and discussed them, in my less than perfect French, with the sales staff. My latest attempt to visit, in 2014, found its former premises occupied by an up-scale clothing store, with no trace of the previous sporting goods store.

Correct, no more Faure-Lepage and "la centrale" is gone too. No more H&H and no more Gastinne Renette either... Besides " Armurerie Elysee", I would vote for "Armurerie Jeannot" (easily reachable by metro). "armurerie de la bourse" at 37 rue Vivienne is not that great but dead center of Paris. The site is historic as it was the address of Lefaucheux way back when and Verney-Caron in the 30s I think.. "Armurerie Alex" might have some good stuff ( a super nice Cordy last time I went there and a pair of Holland). All those are find-able with Google. As for your visit planning, it would take a week to do it. Don't be that ambitious, or you will be disappointed. Other armureries are hit and miss, but one never knows.
Best regards, WC-

Apologies--both of my two shops apparently have closed. With the closing of Centrale, it almost seems to be the passing of an era--it was an "Old Fashioned Gun Shop" that I went to almost weekly in the late 80's. I bought three lovely Darnes (12, 16 and 20) from him--
Sad
