Hello,

I am a newbie here and thought this was the best place to start some research.

My good friend just bought this rifle .450 nitro. He has been told that it has appeared in Double gun journal and would love to know if anyone knows which issue.

It is of unknown manufacturer. A very nice rifle I shot it last Friday.

That is the rifle that Geoffrey Gournet engraved. It was recently pictured in the DGJ, within the last year I think.
I sold years ago at auction as part of the Dr. Lanny Samson collection. I have the auction catalog somewhere - will try to find it.
Then, it was unfinished in the white iirc.

Thank you gentlemen! I didn't get very good pics, we were shooting several rifles last Friday and it was 102 F so I didn't linger.

I would be interested in any additional information you may think of. Very much appreciated.

If anyone can remember which issue of DGJ it was in that would be great too.

It is pictured in the Winter 2013 issue of DGJ.

The Auction - way back in November 1999 - was by J.C. Devine.
Here it is in the catalog.
Yes, that is a 350 Rigby Magnum there too - a moment of silence for the Good Old Days please...

Wow, awesome. Thank you Hurvius! It is a beautiful rifle.

It wasn't a bad day even with the high temps I shot my Win model 70 super express 375 h&h but also got to shoot this 450 nitro and his double Heym in 577 Nitro.

He is going to Africa in Oct with the Heym but we are both going next late March and he is determined to use the 450 then.

Moment of silence observed.
