I happened to be thumbing thru the channels when this retard made this uncontested and idiotic statement on CNN that an AR 15 can fire 700 rounds per minute. I am very familiar with the AR 15 platform having built a couple from scratch and I can tell you the following with 100% certainty:
It would be difficult to get 700 rounds per minute out of the true assault rifle version which is the full auto M16. And then IMO It would take a very skilled shooter with the ability to change magazines very quickly. This guy in true anti gun grabber fashion is FOS!

Obama and his stooges have tried to turn this tragedy into an anti-gun crusade. This is a gun forum and we need to reject that ridiculous position at every turn and show up their lies. I'm not surprised that a troll like you is the 1st to comment here. I left this as a 100% gun related point with no politics included in my original post until you in typical troll fashion decided to make your remark. Talk about an Out & Out lie, "Obama" is now trying to prove he is NOT Anti-Gun by quoting that gun sales have increased during his term of president.
I think we all realize these increased sales were a Result of his efforts, But certainly not by his Intent.
To now try to take credit for the backfiring of his efforts at disarmament is Hypocrisy at its highest level.

Next thing we'll be hearing is that "a shotgun can fire over 300 bullets in a single high-powered blast" (that would be 312 pellets in a 1 1/8 oz. load of #7).

The person that made the comment is a FL. Congressman, and is well known for such drivel. He didn't say an AR 15 is capable of firing 700 rounds per min., which would imply a rate of fire. Instead, he said an AR 15 could shoot 700 rounds in one min. This is just not possible, and Grayson should have known it. If they really want to save lives, they will do something about padlocking fire exits in a public venue. It was mentioned in passing that all exits, except the one the shooter had blocked was padlocked. It is against the law to block fire exits, even if you have more than you need; you can't make a building less safe than it was built. If it was a fire that killed 50 and injured 53 others, the owners/operators of the night club would have been arrested. Since they were shot instead, they will try to take your AR 15.

Whatever the rate of fire or dimensions of hypocrisy, they're a gnat's eyelash of influence in the gun debate compared to growing concern of persons legally loaded to the ears with assault rifles in public places. Downtown, it's madness.
