Here is what pisses me off.
When a guy calls on the phone and says ""whats your best price" I say I think the price is fair but make me an offer.
He makes an offer and I say I will take it and then he says '"well let me think about it"

It helps to take only "hard offers". Don't do any negotiating until the customer gives you a credit card. If they refuse to give you a card number, that tells you right off the bat they are not serious to begin with, and are only wasting your time.
If they give you a card, then make you an offer and you agree, at that instant they bought the gun and it is going on their card.
If you begin to practice that rule, you will be amused at how many customer will be offended for having to give you a credit card. They are stunned that "they might actually have to buy the gun" if you accept their offer.
One of the most important skills that many people need to learn when working retail, is that there are many customers that are just too expensive to do business with. I think we all know what that means, and it is best to weed them out as soon as possible.
