I didn't see a price on any of them so are they cheaper than the Kent's tungsten matrix? If not than why even bother with bismuth.

Well, they state that it is "safe for the environment," so it must be worth whatever they are charging for it.

It would be interesting to see an authoritative opinion on the suitability of the different non-tox shot for older English doubles. I was under the impression that Bismuth was the safest non-tox shot for old guns. I would be happy to be educated on the subject. There's a lot of hunting I'd like to do in areas that require non-fox shot by law.

I just wish Kent would offer their tungsten matrix in a loading that is slightly less powerful than a stick of dynamite.

Some recent studies now claim that bismuth has been found to leach into the soil and groundwater and interfere with soil bacteria. Other studies claim that tungsten, which is transformed to a soluble form by oxidation, can accumulate in the spleen of wildlife and possibly cause immune system disorders. Even copper has been claimed to be toxic under certain circumstances.

Or with the price of tungsten so high maybe bismuth is getting to the point where it is cheaper for them to load Bismuth plus I heard that some Euro countries are banning Tungsten (Denmark)

"Tungsten shot is to be banned in Denmark after a study in the US raised concerns about its toxicity."

Are we next ?

Of course jOe. Lead shot bans are mostly just to thin the ranks of shooters and make the next steps easier. Most of them have been based upon conjecture and highly questionable junk science. And if all lead ammo was banned, the greatly increased demand for so-called no-tox ammo would drive the prices through the stratosphere.

He has been informed of that, Keith. He has been told he is really just a useful idiot to the forces that want to ban hunting, having been sold on the notion that non-toxic shot is good for the environment:

http://www.doublegunshop.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=428690&page=1

Notice how he has gulped the kool-aid, and slobers all over how friendly to the environment non toxic shot is in the above post. Guys like him are the best weapon the antis have to shutting us down. I said it then. I repeat it, now.

Hey jOe, want some of my dirty skivvies to clean your guns with? Because it won't matter what you clean them with when it is against the law to hunt or shoot with them.

Idiot.

Best,
Ted
