Referring to gun 300054-- I once owned this gun--Rick made a typo, they are 28-inch barrels. It is a wonderful skeet gun! One bet I would make is that if you make him a lower offer you will likely receive the same two letter response the late Russ Rupple was noted for. But then, as Russ also frequently said, I could be wrong.

strangest thing about these sbs's. short lop's. i see a lot of them in the 13's.
im a normal 14 3/4" lop for skeet nd trap. im 6-1. yet, when i swing a sbs up, even 13.5" lop's come right up. its almost like they were designed to be fast mounting.
am i the only one who feels this way with short lop's?

I'm 6'2", I shoot 15"+ LOP on my S x Ss, even on my .410s. If the wood isn't that long, I put a lace-on pad on it and make it so it is. I can shoot as short as 14 1/2" for fast mounting, like quail. Under 14"? ....... no way.

Ithaca standard LOP was 14 to 14 1/4 except on SBTs that were about 1/2 inch longer. Hunting in cold weather with a 3/8 inch thick Woolrich coat, etc., didn't lend itself to long LOP. I am about 5'5 ", my grandson is 6'2". We feed the kids better as of late. Bobski, go over to Shotgun World, the "I love my Ithaca" forum and you will see more Ithaca gun photos. You may have to flip back several pages but there are a lot there. Also have a photo gallery--also all the other "----Lovers" forums.

it would seem early guns were ordered for men who hunted and wore heavy coats. that would make sense.

walter, thanks for the invite. ive been steering clear of sgw only because the website takes too long to load and it keeps tossing ads in my face, mixed into personal threads top and bottom now as well. i think they went too far and they lost my loyalty. i think i will be here more often with my nice gun questions and discussions. i will go over there to help those with model 50 questions in the winchester room monthly. i know 50's arent sbs's so i wont discuss them here, unless its ok by staff.
