The guy's listing sounded a bit embellished until he provided a link to an article referencing the exact serial number. That being said, I would be hard pressed to believe any Webley & Scott 700 is worth 85K. Seems unlikely that it would be a fake either so really not sure what to make of this. Apologies if this has been discussed previously.

Just to be clear, I am NOT contemplating purchasing so have at smile

He could take away one zero, and it would still be priced too high.

I've seen this rednecked schmuck's ads on GB-he is aptly named "Ton80"- he's full of that much shit-talk about out of touch with reality-and the extra crapload of it being sold in some Army PX in maybe England or Germany is just a cheap-assed sales ploy, to add extra "sizzle to the steak" so to speak. He'll get that much for this midget gauged double when the Cubs win the World Series the same year the Detroit Lions won the Super Bowl..

I just kind of enjoyed the fact that he blew right past the H&H Royal Deluxe 20 listed at $74,800.

The book excerpt that he linked to was interesting though and he pretty much lifted it word for word.

Do you think he would take a post dated cashiers check drawn of the Bank of Nigeria? Seems to me his price and that type of check have a lot in common.

I could do the 85 grand, but the cost of 410 shells is the deal killer.

It is only an offer until someone agrees to pay it. P. T. Barnum, maybe, said, "There is a sucker born every minute." Obviously this guy is looking for the sucker that just won the Lotto. I don't personally know of a person with the means to buy who doesn't know better in spades. Me thinks the guy is stroking his ego.

You know for that much money you might get them to make you a new gun to your exact needs. 85K is 56K pounds. Perhaps not a top name side lock but almost certainly this gun and perhaps a little change left over. Why buy used when you can have new?
