But we are talking averages. I have realized that, in my town, many of the Blacks don't know how to read and that many of them read poorly. If my wife and I had raised their kids from babyhood to eighteen their kids would have scored higher on IQ tests, SAT tests, and 8th grade standardized tests, than they would had their birth parents raised them. And they would have been more intelligent in mechanical aptitude and other "non academic tests"..

Had those same illiterate blacks raised my son from babyhood to eighteen he would have scored lower and been less intelligent and less mechanically able.

So culture has an effect on intelligence.

In respect to the gap between Blacks' average intelligence and Whites' average intelligence, culture matters.

To know that the cause of that gap was genetic a researcher would have to have a large control group of Black babies, raise them in average black households, and then compare them to large control group of Black Babies raised by excellent parents.
