That is one ill conceived rifle. It should have been put out of its misery at birth. I think I may be sick.

That is one of the versions of the Mod 39 that Bannerman sold in the 1940 catalog for $33. But this particular one has had a bunch of bad things done to it.

I agree, never should have been born. Also, never would have imagined all those mis-matched parts would actually fit together.
Pretty sure the bolt shroud is from a Winchester 54, rather than a Mauser like the seller stated.
Does anybody know what those offset scope base holes fit? I have seen that pattern of holes before, but never knew what bases fit them.

$33 in 1940 has the same buying power as $553 in 2015.
