I just finished looking at this double barrel,Australian or German, damascus percussion shotgun and need help identifying it. There is a name on the barrel rib that appears to be Simon V__________? but this is all I can make out. Jim

So no city with it? Can you post an image of the surname beginning with a V? May have to divorce the tubeset & see what marks lay below.

Jim, the closest I can find on IGC is a New York fellow. Given his name, I wondered if he could have imported guns from Germany/Austria?

Don't forget that people used to put their OWN name on the rib.
Nash Buckingham did. It may be the maker or the original owner.
