What is the best glue or method for attaching a leather type label to the felt on the inside of a case?

I don�t know what is best way but I have used white wood glue (PVAc) for that kind of works. This glue is IMO best for gluing leather because it�s flexible and penetrates well. One good way to avoid glue coming through the leather (glue would make ugly spots) is first impegrate leather sheet thoroughly with thinned water based tapestry paste and then let it dry properly before applying the glue for installation.

I recommend that you use the traditional hot �Hide Pearl Glue� for fixing case labels for a couple of reasons firstly it was the standard glue used for case labels up to the invention of the PVA glue we use today. Secondly if you wish to remove the label for any reason it is far easier to re soften as against some PVAs that can be near perminent. Also you can apply the glue to the label let it become slightly tacky then apply the label to the case and it stays put more or less instantly and when set the glue does not migrate through the label or the case baize. It may be one of the oldest glue types but its benefits outweigh its faults that is why the glue is still available and used today!!!!

Seems to me a two-sided carpet tape carefully layed and trimmed on the back of the label and then pressed into place on the case would work well and be completely reversible.

I contacted CSMC for a loose trade label on my RBL case. They said they use 3M spray adhesive 3M#77.

I use Elmer's glue. It works great and if there is any overage just take a wet rag and wipe it off.
I would also expect that if you removed the label at a later date it would be easy by just wetting the label and the glue would loosen up.
I have never had a label come loose after using it. Plus you can find it everywhere

Red Green would, of course, use duct tape. But, as everyone knows, it as well as most of the other glues and adhesives usually recommended dry out over time. CSMC's recommendation of 3M 77 Spray Adhesive is spot on as it is much more resistant to drying out.
