Each year, roughly 7,000 blacks are murdered. Ninety-four percent of the time, the murderer is another black person


Though blacks are 13 percent of the nation's population, they account for more than 50 percent of homicide victims. Nationally, the black homicide victimization rate is six times that of whites, and in some cities, it's 22 times that of whites. According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, between 1976 and 2011, there were 279,384 black murder victims. Coupled with being most of the nation's homicide victims, blacks are also major victims of violent personal crimes, such as assault, rape and robbery.

Now we see one of the reasons;

Weak family structures not only spell poverty and dependency but also contribute to the social pathology seen in many black communities -- for example, violence and predatory sex .



In 1950, female-headed households were 18 percent of the black population. Today it's close to 70 percent.

One study of 19th-century slave families found that in up to three-fourths of the families, all the children lived with the biological mother and father. In 1925 New York City, 85 percent of black households were two-parent households. Herbert Gutman, author of "The Black Family in Slavery and Freedom, 1750-1925," reports, "Five in six children under the age of six lived with both parents." Also, both during slavery and as late as 1920, a teenage girl raising a child without a man present was rare among blacks.


Coupled with the dramatic breakdown in the black family structure has been an astonishing growth in the rate of illegitimacy. The black illegitimacy rate in 1940 was about 14 percent; black illegitimacy today is over 70 percent, and in some cities, it is over 80 percent.

Perhaps we white folks should all agree to hate blacks people because, as Dave so neutrally reminds us, they have so many tendencies to go wrong. Dave , if you had to endure what black people in urban areas face as their birthright, you'd go postal. Share your racial animosity with Fox News,Rush Limbaugh, etc. You assumption that these problems are the result of the color of people's skin is a crock of shit.

Democrats still want to keep blacks on their plantation of needing government handouts -- thus keeping blacks dependent on government, thus keeping blacks voting for Democrats, who promise to give them stuff via programs. To make their scam work, Democrats also tell blacks that Republicans are burning the midnight oil planning ways to "keep them down." Thus, you blacks need us Democrats to keep evil rich white Republicans off your backs.

In a nutshell, blacks are being played by the Democrats. So you can imagine my frustration and impatience with ignorant knuckleheads who trash me for being a Republican. I am working to liberate my people -- to ensure that they be treated with dignity and respect, and not as needy, inferior supplicants.

Don't lump anyone else with you Bill, you go right ahead and hate anyone you want.

Aside from being prejudice against Republicans, what are your facts and answers to counter all the shit that you see. Maybe your birthright says anyone one I don't like is wrong.

It takes a really short historical memory to conclude that Democrats are playing black people. It wasn't Republicans who pushed hard for passage of the Civil Rights Act. Yes, you can trot out the odd black commentator who resents efforts to advance the opportunities of his fellow blacks. Thomas Sowell is the conspicuous example. No part of this discussion, however, is partisan. People of good will reject the implication that social pathology is the result of race. We have plenty of crime where I live. The perps have a lot in common with urban blacks- poverty and a lack of education. They are all whites.

PS, I have no prejudice against Republicans. I generally oppose their policies, not because they're Republican, but because I feel on most issues they're simply wrong. Years ago, before the Republican party went nuts, I admired lots of Republicans. Craig, your post doesn't make any sense. If you want to argue, write something literate. Otherwise, no one can tell what you mean.

They even ignore the egregious violence and lawlessness that plague some of America�s most Democrat cities. (Such as Detroit, Chicago, Washington DC and Los Angeles.)

Today�s conservative causes continue the traditionally Republican heritage of promoting a better life for every American:

Welfare reform was not an assault on poor people of color. Rather, it was about lifting people (of any race or creed) out of poverty. Conservatives such as Newt Gingrich, Ronald Reagan, and even Calvin Coolidge, always believed the success of a welfare program should be judged by how many people no longer need it.

Democrats looked at ways to make poverty more comfortable. Ninety-nine weeks of unemployment (today�s standard) is not designed to promote self-sufficiency

Had Liberalism succeeded in lifting the afflicted out of victimization, wouldn�t cities like Chicago, Detroit, and Philadelphia be centers of prosperity and affluence for minorities?

Bill, I'd like to give you the benefit of doubt but why does enunciating the difficulties faced by blacks in America today mean the writer is a racist? Why do you have such difficulty in accepting the historical record?

Pretty hard to SOLVE a problem without a clear understand of the what and the why and the extent of the problem. Can't get to that without looking at and speaking about the facts.

America can continue to put the extraordinarily expensive and divisive band-aid on or you can try to actually understand and solve the problem.

And for the record, the problem is not blacks, it is the poor underbelly of America, with no fathers, little education and fewer opportunities. In my country it's Native Americans, in yours it's blacks. In England and Scotland, it's a whole bunch of white guys. (these are generalizations but I think they are apt)
