I appreciate the input and thoughts.
The point that it would always be in my head when I looked at the gun is right on, I have been there before.
In no way am I arguing, just observing. But I find with the guns I own that I have tried to have "put right" that I have a great deal of satisfaction when I look at them, knowing that I had a hand in removing the absent or clumsy attempts at repair and maintenance.
I look and use the guns I have done this with and it reminds me of the need to get the others rehabilitated. We'll all feel better (my guns and me LOL) when the job's completed.
Again, I want to be clear, this is not with guns of a collectible nature nor for any perceived resale value. It's purely to bring good quality shooters back to the best possible useable condition. I'm aiming for well maintained classics.
