Dean and Jeff, I'm no waterman, but I do remember buying great plump steamers at Safeway for a nickel. My ex and I would pound them down by the bag. I guess I've always been a bottom feeder.

The Homestead was on the rumor mill list of possible places for 2007.

I used to do business with them and have been there a number of times. I would not go there for a Vintagers.

You pretty much end up staying there and eating their food at their prices, there are few reasonable alternatives nearby.

Wow, the vintagers at Pintail Point. That's great news. And that's only 30 miles from Bill Wise's house. We have to get Bill up and running so he can make the short commute on a daily basis during the event. And speaking of Bill, what is the latest news? I haven't heard anything in a while.

I used to keep a sailboat in Annapolis and always loved going up to that area. The best place for crabs that I found was Mike's Crab House (a local favorite) on the South River in Riva, a suburb of Annapolis. Hope it's still there. There are not many prettier areas than Annapolis and the Eastern Shore along the bay.

As for the Homestead, it would be a great place for the event, but there's really only one place to stay and it isn't cheap. There's nowhere else in the area, so accomodating such a crowd and event would be a real limiting factor.
