Roger, thanks. Do you know how that affects the Winter Show of 2014 in Vegas ? As I recall the Engraver's Guild was to be there at the same time as the Beinfeld show.

That's some sad news, my condolences go out to his family.
I'm sure there are others that have attended Mr. Beinfeld's Winter Vegas show many more times than I did, but I was able to get to ten of them. These shows helped formulate my appreciation for fine doubles more than any other and my wife didn't mind attending because of the her chances of bumping into people like Tom Selleck and other TV and movie fame personalities. I recall the 1st couple of shows we attended were held in tents in a parking lot out behind the Sahara. Subsequently the show moved indoors at the Sahara. Then Mr. Beinfeld moved the show over to the Riviera. Following years saw the seen at the Tropicana and Mandalay Bay and then finally back to the Riviera. I sure hope Mr. Beinfeld's great tradition that he created will continue on . . .

I, too am sorry to hear of Wally's passing. This was posted on their website:
Dear Friends,
It is with great sorrow I need to inform you of the passing of an icon in the gun world. Wallace Beinfeld passed away peacefully at the age of 84. His battle with Alzheimer's for the past two years ended Friday, May 10, 2013.
Wally produced the Las Vegas Antique Arms Show for 51 years. Many of you have been with him for most of the journey. You have seen the show grow in size and merchandise, from antique and collectibles to sporting arms and custom knives. You were there in the early days of the Sahara, to the great tent show, the Riviera, Mandalay Bay, and back to the Riviera. While there were other short term stops, Wally was always thinking of ways to better position the show for his exhibitors. Wally appreciated your support in building the highest quality historical firearms show in the country.
Paul and I have assumed the responsibility of the daily operations and management of the show. Working with Wally for the past fifteen years, we are honored to continue his legacy. This was Wally's passion! We will miss his guidance, but always cherish the opportunity he has provided.
Paul and I want all of you to know that we are available for you.
Paul's cell: 951-970-9669 Karen's cell: 951-970-4349 Fax: 951-698-7557 Email: beinfeldproductions@gmail.com
Greg Roberts, majority owner of Beinfeld Productions says "In true Wally fashion the show will go on. We are planning on having the best show ever in January, a show in honor of Wally with a gathering to celebrate his life. In addition my partners and I have all the faith in Karen and Paul to continue Wally's legacy. They have the company's full support and we look forward to the next 50 years."
If you have not made your plans to attend the January 2014 show and would like to, please contact me or Paul. We will be having a special gathering on Friday evening in honor of Wally, please don't miss out. We look forward to seeing you.
A celebration of Wally's life will be on June 2nd. For details on location, time, and to RSVP contact Frank DiSalvo at 760-668-2901 or fdisalvo777@gmail.com.
We will miss Wally so very much; his stories, jokes, and his unique ability to break things. Wally's legacy of the finest gun shows will live on in his honor.
Be sure to be at the January 2014 show and join in Wally's celebration!
Sincerely,
Karen Balfour

You bet Daryl! I remember that first Anchorage show I attended so many years ago and you had the table next to mine. Thirty plus years ago but cannot remember the exact year. Much water still flowing under the bridge.

Sam, we sat with you and Wilma at a very early FEGA meeting in Vegas. Might have been when you were president. Not sure if it was the 1980 meeting, but close.
