A client (who is in the process of relocating his home clean across the country) came by today to kill some time while his realtor was showed his home. In the process of pre-packing some of his belongings, he ran across a little artifact that he had somehow accumulated over the years and he gave it to me, knowing about one of my soft spots. I've never seen one of these before, it's a little 14-page phamplet that's about 4-inches long and maybe 2 1/2-inches wide, and at the end of a roughly 6-inch long olive-colored corded loop. The colors are a chocolate brown top and bottom with a yellow cream banner with the chocolate letters stating "Care of your Shotgun". Below that, in cream-colored letters bordered by the chocolate bottom it says "L.C. Smith "The double that sights like a single"". On the last page it says on the bottom of the text, "Hunter Arms Co., Inc. Fulton, New York, U.S.A. Below that it says (in very fine print) "No.105 Printed in the U.S.A".
I've never heard of one of these before, let-alone seen one. Does anyone know what era this might have come from?
