Hey, I got it. I do not think a Model 1952 bolt will fit the earlier Model 1903-1910 actions thogh, but I may be wrong. Otherwise it is a great deal.
On 4/20 is the other auction where a 20 gauge X 9.3X72R is that I would like to pick up, I may get lucky.

I found a stock profiler who is very well recommended and does great work at a reasonable price who has agreed to take on the stock work. At least get it inletted for me. Now I need a very long blank of nice wood that will not break the bank. It needs to be approxamately 40 inches in length. I have found several but almost all that look even close to being a nice blank are over $400.00. Any help here appreciated with a supplier.

Nice wood is never cheap unless the seller doesn't realize what they have. Mannlicher length blanks always bring a premium too.
$400+ is probably going to be around the market price for an imported walnut blank unless you go with something very plain.

I just bought a commercial M1903 M/S project that came w/a blank inletted for the bbld action. Just the inletting done and a nice job of it. The rest still in a block form.
With all the hard work they did, they chose a dead plain blank to do it on.
Should be strong anyway!

Everything but the DST was with it,,there's always something missing isn't there.
I'm putting a single trigger in it and will maybe make a 1/2 stock out of it. A bit more English styling to the thing perhaps.
Something different.
I told myself no more projects but a M/S,,I couldn't resist. That's 2 in a month.

If you are looking for wood that is not particularly expensive, you might look on Ebay. There are a hell of a lot of blanks - most laughably poor for every reason you can imagine, but there are some really good hidden values out there often. One regular ebay seller is "quaking_aspens". They sell a lot of gun wood and much of it is extremely nice and a prices that I find are quite reasonable or even exceptional.

A quick search of their current listings is right here

And you might drop them a note about your particular needs for an MS stock and see what they have to say.

In any event, I recommend ebay, if you have a bit of patience and "quaking_aspens" as one of the better sellers.

The lenght for a mannlicher is harder to find, but what is the width at the magazine/action area? Mine is still in shipment so I have no clue as to the width of a balnk needed. I would think 2.75 or 3 inches should do it.

I just sent Cathy an email and I hope she has a nice one for me. I need to find the width of the blank needed though. I have seen some really nice blanks that made it in the length but were only 2.5 or 2.75 in width. Whats the opinion on needed width for one of these rifles?

I have never stocked a MS, but I would think 2.5" would be fine, unless you need lots of cast or are putting a very large cheek piece on it. I do not believe the mag box will require anything over 2.5"
