Where can I find low pressure 16 Gauge ammo in 2 9/16" for my older 16 gauge guns? I figure it won't hurt to shoot those shells even if the chamber is 2 3/4" in my Flues and Baker as well as in my French 16 bore. Thanks

Steve,

RST has them. Good people to deal with.

2 9/16" ~= 65.1mm. 67mm ammunition should work OK. It is only about 0.08" longer than 65mm. Plastic hulls are thinner than paper in the crimp area, and plastic hulls may be skived to make them very thin at the end of the crimp.

RST is the preferred source because Alex Papp and Morris Baker are real people who are out there shooting and selling their shells with "us". I love those RST 16s, shoot nothing else. Morris and Alex will be at the Southern in April. rstshells.com

A 2nd for RST - great shells, great people. If you have a 28, try their 2 1/2" 5/8 oz load.

Haven't shot the RST's yet, but picked up a couple of boxes from a new distributor in Coeur d' Alene. Probably try them out before too long.

I have shot the Polywad, Gamebore, and the 67mm Eley shells. They all seem to work fine on birds, but I suspect the Eley's are a bit higher pressure the others mentioned.

The RST website does not, last time I looked, publish pressure figures. However, I was provided with a chart of pressures by the proprietors, and they were quite conservative. I'm sure they will provide the pressure information on request.
