I was hoping someone might have some information about this rifle and/ or the gunsmith who made it. I have been told it is a cape gun (one barrel is smooth and the other is rifled) and the maker�s name is Germanic. I performed a google search on the markings, �J. Hanl� and �Willowmitz�, and believe the rifle was made in an area which is now the Czech Republic in the Usti nad Labem region(I think this area was under German rule at one time or another). Any help would be greatly appreciated. I�ve attached pics.

The locks are similar to a V. Lebeda (Prague) pinfire ball & shot gun I have.

Any of the below, & others, offered the stepped lock variant:

Karoly Kiszela Pesten - Pu�kar

Anton Vincenz Lebeda Prag

Anton Mulacz Wien - B�chsenmacher

Jozsef Kirner, Jr. Pesten - Pu�kar

Karol L. Werlik Teschen/Cieszynie - Rusznikarz

Antoni Werlik

Karol Spiegel Teschen/Cieszynie - Rusznikarz

I would guess he sourced Kirner or Lebeda, maybe Mulacz.

If you divorce the tubeset from the frame, marks there, if any, may point to the actual maker. Johann H�nl/Haenel of Willomitz/Vil�mov more than likely was a Country Gunsmith that was more or a retailer/firearms merchant than a maker.

Steve is your Anton Vincenz Lebeda example cased and in the high 85xx serial number range?

No serial number and no proofs.

There's not a serial number or proof anywhere on the gun.

Have you taken the barrels out of the stock and seen
what is stamped underneath?
