All that is left as a firewall against the forces that gave us Barack Obama, Harry Reed and Nancy Pelosi is the House of Representatives and a few old men on the Supreme Court. How long do you figure that Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas can hang on? Another year ? Maybe two? One, ..maybe two Supreme Court appointments during this term for Obama and it's over baby. Stick a fork in it. What are your plans then? You gonna hold off the forces of this government with your AR-15 and some freeze-dried MREs? Ask the Talliban about how well that works.

Like you, I'm an NRA member, and I pray that they can reverse the tide we're facing. Our only hope is that not all of the liberals, and Democrats (and Goddamnit, some Republicans too!)who voted for Obama in November are complete idiots. Red State Democrats can hopefully moderate some of their members and get them to see that guns are not the root of the problem and that government is not the only answer. These people are our neighbors, our co-workers, and even our family in some cases. We've got to pursuade them in a thoughtful and cogent fashion. Dismissing them as "kooks, nitwits, and lullers" is a non-starter.

Kooks, nitwits, lullers, and idiots got us to this point. We did everything but draw a picture for the Obama supporters on this forum and elsewhere, but they still re-elected him. I sure hope the Republicans aren't going to buy the votes of lazy losers like nca225, or resort to stealing elections by suddenly getting over 100% voter turnout in predominately Republican precints. I don't think selling out the values that built this country is an intelligent solution. You call it inescapable demographics, and I see it as an abberant pendulum swing. It may take a train wreck for morons to find religion, but the train wreck is coming. Evolving isn't going to stop it, and those kids you'd rather play with than fight for will pay for the damages. If you seriously think pandering to the likes of anti-gun trolls like nca225 is the answer, I've got some swamp land to sell, mineral rights not included. The Democrats did not win by persuading conservatives in a "thoughtful and cogent fashion." They lied, slandered, ridiculed, and cheated. Have you ever spent any time watching MSNBC? He has some good solid points, but King's a wordsmith and he'll conveniently conceal or gloss over facts that don't quite fit his message. I read that words matter, such as the difference between weapon and firearm. Seems weapon is unnecessarily inflammatory.

But, we get force fed 'facts'. Recent highlights include Catholic bashing, chinese financial bailout of the US, and one of my favorites 'I'm thinking about visiting Birmingham, Alabama, I hear it's different now'. Don't blame others and situations for the world today, look at the mindset and possibly in the mirror. The ability to hunt, fish, and the foods we can eat are being micromanaged more than ever. I believe the kumbaya, progressive is a good thing, concept is what's meant by lulling.

Keith: MSNBC makes me want to barf, so I studiously avoid it and all other mainstream media now by pulling the plug on them. No cable TV in our home since last September. Why any conservative person would pay $60 a month (and more) to be "force fed" the bilge that gets spewed onto the airwaves these days is beyond my understanding, and I'm not just talking about programing (because there still were some good shows), it's the advertising that was unbelieveably horrible as well. My news comes over the internet now and my TV gets used for family movies. As to the generational theft you refer to, you're absolutely right...they will have to foot the bill for the mess we're in now. I pray that they won't have to pay with blood, but that seems quite likely (if you're any student of history). My point in all of this (aided, of course, by a good jug of wine last night) is that I can't wallow in it anymore. It depresses me to the point where life becomes simply miserable. I've got just so-much time left to enjoy on this planet, and I want to make it count. I'll still vote my convictions and support the causes that are critical to me, but I'm done with mourning over what just happened. If I need to take up arms to defend my life and family, I'm more than ready for that, I just don't want that focus to consume the rest of the time I have left.

keith if you actually had the balls to go out and talk to people who had different persuasions then you, I might actually credit you with the sweeping statement that you tired to convince other people "on this forum and elsewhere" of the inherent greatness of conservatism. But you know as well as I do that you are nothing more then an ostrich with its head in the ground lamenting as loud as you can, with other ostriches, that a greater majority of the population who don't see things your way, exercised their god given rights to vote and wouldn't you believe it, they voted against the flip flopping lying douche-bag and all his monied interests. Lloyd3, I realize we probably agree much more than we disagree, but contrary to what I think nca225 was trying to say through his third grade level verbiage and spelling, the current state of things does not depress or discourage me. I already said I feel that what's happening is a blip in history and an abberant swing of the pendulum. I know it will swing the other way as soon as a relatively few voters realize they have been scammed, conned, and lied to. The great incumbent who ran the most expensive presidential campaign in history only won by a few percentage points. That's exactly why I won't bury my head in the sand or give up on illuminating the sheer stupidity of social leeches and losers like nca225. He thinks he's won something, but at what cost? He's a total loser who can only survive because of socialism, and socialism always fails in the end. He hasn't gotten the bill for his ObamaCare individual mandated health insurance yet. He has yet to feel the sting of the inevitable inflation that will erode the value of his food stamps and welfare benefits. He will be poorer in retirement than his mother, whom he still lives with and sponges from. He will become a much poorer person when his hero Obama is finally done with him. He is blinded by man-love for Obama. I get great satisfaction knowing that I'll always fare much better than him. He will be even more dependant and fall lower on the rung of being a free and independant person. He doesn't control his own destiny, and he's moronic enough to cede even more control. He can't see that yet because he is actually in the lowest percentiles of low intelligence Dumbocrats. When he's reduced to eating dog food, it's gonna be Old Roy, not Alpo.

I agree Lloyd3. The pendulum does indeed swing both ways. Unfortunately, after it swings back our way for awhile, it will then go back the other way. This is because so many folks forget history and don't have strength of convictions. I laugh now at the Liberals who have been spending so much time telling the Republicans what they need to do to win again. Since when does the winner willingly share their winning formula with the other side? Sadly, a lot of Republicans are buying into their ploy. These Republicrats will eventually be responsible for the creation of a successful third party.

If winning football teams used the same formula that the Libtards say is good for our country, the Baltimore Ravens front office would now start drafting weak and stupid players like nca225. They would take money from the best players and give it to nca225 even though he couldn't find his own ass with both hands and consistantly ran toward the wrong end zone. PETA might protest outside of the stadium for what nca225 did with gerbils. At least he wouldn't be caught in any love-child sex scandal since fairies don't reproduce. Sports memoribilia dealers would be selling authenticated nca225 autographed gerbils. The new Ravens would hire coaches who had losing records. Referees would not be allowed to penalize players who cheated or broke the rules. The groundskeepers would be illegal aliens and the score board would be bi-lingual. And they would get the NFL to subsidize free tickets and free beer and food so they could still fill their stadium on game day and proclaim that they now have a winning formula. Any losses would be blamed on the previous coach.
