I'm presently sat in front of the fire, full of Christmas dinner and a few beers(and pernods) with my prezzies, Diggorys excellent British boxlock gun & rifle book and Crudgington and Bakers the British shotgun vol 3 (1891-2011)
Total gun porn, judging by what I've seen so far I'm in for a damn good read.
What did you get this year ?

Just had the quail and dumplings my wife made for brunch this morning. I am in the basement with the rest of the dogs - six French Brittanys. It just so happens that I read some Diggory this morning too. I am reading cover-to-cover the Double Gun Journal, Winter 2007, Volume 14, Issue 4. It has an article about British gun auctions and and the merchandise being auctioned. There is also a small brag by Dig tucked in the article. He tells about winning the 28 gauge shooting contest with a gun he never saw before that day. This issue also has a Sherman Bell article about British muzzle loading rifles. I don't have a particular interest in rifles but this interested me. I am about 2/3rds of the way through the issue. I have resolved to read every issue from the Premiere through Volume 17 Issue 4 cover to cover, ads, editorials, poetry (ugh), everything.

After the quail and dumplings cool down the bird dogs will get the leftovers. My son says that food is like crack to dogs. My wife's quail and dumplings doubly so I think.

For the benefit of our company I set out in a three gun display rack an AH Fox Philly XE 12, a Philly XE 16, and a Flues 4E 16.

There is an inch or two of snow outside and I will shortly have to rise and push it off the driveway, sidewalks, and porch. We had a white Christmas.

No firearm or hunting related presents this year. I did receive a box of Oliva V Melanio #4 cigars. Smoked one this morning one while the my setters ran and played in the fresh fallen snow.

Now that is a Christmas Display that puts the nicest tree to shame.

After Midnight Mass with the youngest at 21 we now sleep late and have bacon and waffles for lunch

My display are my three best girls (Setter, Lab, & wife) curled up together on the sofa. That Setter sure is gorgeous, and the wife too.

Several coffe mugs with photos of my springers taken over the years. My wife lifted them from my hunting journal ... a sweet present.

Lucky guy. I get to smoke one of my usual El Cheapos. Early morning pheasant hunt was postponed till this afternoon because the phone was ringing off the hook with relatives. The idiots know I hunt and I could really care less about about their kids new video games.

All my girls are at home and we had sausage and Christmas cookies for breakfast. I got a copy of the "British Bore Rifle" which is likely to lead to a much more expensive gift for myself down the road. A movie is cued up to play while the turkey is in the oven.

My family is having their gathering next Satuday, but since I'm single, my neighbor invited me over for dinner this evening. Not sure of the entire menu, but I did hear smoked pheasant was the appetizer. Thank God for great neighbors. I'm also expecting a nice present in the mail soon. Just purchased a sub 6 lb. 1911 Ithaca Flues 16 gauge in 95 % original condition from gunsinternational. My first gun was a flues 12 gauge my grandfather gave me over 40 years ago. That gun is long gone but this gun looks like an exact copy(only lighter).
