Hi all, on a recent hunt with Wade Burns, we were comparing guns (both Dickinsons) I noticed that his 12ga was a bit lighter than my 16. Granted, his has 26" bbls and mine are 28".

But, due to the size of the bores, I figured that he had more air in his bbls than I did in mine. That shaved off some weight.

Then Wade said that the hollow butt in his gun was filled with helium so it was lighter than my plain old air filled stock.

Taking my gun into the local Dollar Store tomorrow to fill my stock with helium (I suppose I'll have to buy a balloon however)

Anyone have anymore ideas on how to reduce weight?

Best!

Greg

Here's an idea, carry your new Turk shotgun while spending some time on a treadmill instead of a keyboard and maybe you'll both shave some weight. All the best!!!

Order a set of precision cast foam titanium barrels. Have the action replaced with anti-gravity unobtanium. I'm not sure what the handling dynamics will be with a gun that you have to hold down to keep from floating away on the wind, but I will be anxiously awaiting your report.

Why would he do that? We spent a lovely day shooting birds out the windows of my Rover while eating donuts and drinking chocolate milk by the gallon.

I still think Hellium is the key to faster target acquisition.

In the last six months I have gone from a flabby 202 to a svelte 187 pounds of rippling muscle. That loss is the equivalent of two Dickinsons.

Sub the lead shot with puffed wheat. Get on Mike's 6 dog chase training program, and complain a few times to your wife about her cooking in front of your friends and family. That last tip is especially effective.

The helium idea is good, but instead I would get two or three helium balloons and tie them in different places along the gun. Make sure the strings are long enough and they will be out of the line of sight. This will only work when used in fields, oh, and just make sure you don't let go of the gun or else it will float away.
