I currently load a 300 gr jacketed SP for my Henry .450 3 1/4 BPE.

I'd really like to load a lead flat nose bullet, but cannot find a .450 mould for 300 gr.

Does anyone know where I could arrange for one to be made without having to go "all the way" custom and slugging my bore, etc.?

As I said, the Hornady off-the-shelf 300 gr jacketed bullets give me 2 to 3 inch regulation at 50 yds, which is perfectly acceptable accuracy as far as I'm concerned. I'm definitely not a bench-nut trying to squeeze out one ragged hole targets.

Krakow, I've had good results with the RCBS 300gr flatpoint gas check mould. I use it in 45-70,and 450-3 1/4. It's a two-cavity mould and lets you crank out bullets at a good pace. PS: Do you have any shooting results yet with the Patrick Mullin?

You kinda took the rug out from under me with the Patrick Mullin question. And then, genius that I am, realized "rocky mtn bill" must be Bill Ferguson!

I wish I could tell you that I shot up the woods last season with that beautiful Mullin but the truth of the matter is that I lost the WHOLE bird season due to my being laid up terribly with my sciatica.

And It's plagued me from new complications since. In fact I just had yet another MRI last Friday.

I am sorry to say I have yet to shoot that gun. The funny thing is that not 2 days ago a slip of paper fell from a folder of mine and on it was this: Mullin Load 4 Drams FFg 1 1/2 oz #6 Circle Fly Lubed Wad

I believe that is your recommended diet, no? Hopefully, this chance occurrence was heaven-sent and bodes well for the near future!

I will second tom at Accurate. Certainly competitive too I thought.

He made two moulds of different weights from tje same block w/o extra charges. AND designed what I needed to boot!
I choose aluminum but brass and cast iron are available.
