Hi,

Exactly how deep are you relieving the background of your oak leaves? What method do you use to remove all that metal? I like it a lot.

Thanks folks!

I use a hammer & chisel (old school) to do the majority of my work. The oak leaves are shaped using small punches (chislets in the Belgian school of engraving). The background is probably .040 or so...just guessing, I am not that precise....deep enough to make it look good is, I suppose, the best answer.
