I've got a Parker VH that sounds like a tuning fork when I fire it. I just shot my new-to-me Bernardelli Brescia hammer 12 for the first time this weekend on doves, and it did ring like a tuning fork on every shot. Also really loud, sounded like a 10 to the guys I was hunting with. Loads were 1200fps, 1oz.

I personally believe this is one of the doubles redeeming qualities! Jim

We were speculating about why the Bernardelli was so loud and high pitched when fired, and I concocted a theory about the barrel steel coming from melted church bells. One guy bought that story, for a while. You might be a redneck, if....

Ah, now I recall. My Beretta O/U 682 Gold E Sporting clays gun with 32" bbls would ring like windchime tubes.
