Lover the photos of the quail shoot - thought you might like some of a small pheasant/partridge/duck shoot here in the UK.

That's the way! The ties, the hats, dogs, the fun.

You fellows look to be about my age. I fear that the future of hunting in both our nations is at risk due to the younger generation not being interested in hunting. But that will be their loss. Let's enjoy out sport as long as our legs will carry us into the field!

Enjoyed ALL the pics you've ever posted here, Old Farmer. Thank You. This last bunch of pix - was this a SHOOT of some kind or a SHOTS of booze get-together?

Lots of great photos... thanks for sharing!!!

I will say, I like that pheasant tie the chap in the first photo is wearing.

I love my English Springer and enjoy both hunting and lounging around the house with him at my side. (my 3rd ESS in my life..)

Not to sound like a prissy nerd, but, I don't care for hard booze before a hunt. Hope they were enjoying it afterwards. Far too many good hunters have been ruined by booze and guns in the wrong ratio.

The old boys grouse about the weather, grouse if they miss a bird, grouse about their neighbour shooting their birds - but I am afraid those are all the grouse we ever have here!!!
Oh I forgot the Famous grouse - had a few bottles of that!!

Some of the lads do bring some interesting old pieces but on that day I was shooting as will as snapping so didn't get any. If you want to have a look at some nice old guns go to...

You may need the pass word 12boreshotgun.
There is even a clip of the punt gun going off.

I will make an effort to take a few of the interesting guns come autunm.
John
