Over on Gunboards, the member 2520WCF suggested that I post some photos of my Flues. I traded a pistol for it; from what I've learned it is a field grade, but marked as a special; one barrel is from Belgium, the other, the US. Chokes are cylinder and modified. (From ShotgunWorld: The tube on your gun marked LLH came from Lochet Habran of Jurille, Belgium. The tube marked SB&Co. came from Sanderson Brothers, originally an American branch of a Shieffield, England, company located in Syracuse, NY, but by this time part of Crucible Steel.)

what looks like rust is actually oil in this picture

That's a nice Flues you have there. I'd suggest looking for an original buttplate for it though. The ill fitting white line pad detracts from an otherwise nice gun. By the looks of it, I'd guess the buttstock hasn't been cut. Thanks for sharing pics.

I have to admit I "forwarded" cwo here. I'm sure he'd like to know where/what ammo is appropriate, and what search words here to find thread discussions of action strength, etc.

Agree with Keith; neat gun deserving of a better pad or buttplate treatment. Somebody makes replacement buttplates--Vintage???

Yes, Vintage Gun Grips makes replacement butt plates. They offer several for the Flues model. Best to trace the end of the stock and mark the holes to get the right one. (Ask me how I know.)

As far as ammo, I would recommend low pressure 2-1/2" loads from RST or Polywad.

While the two different barrel manufacturers is unique, I don't think that is what it made a special but I am certainly no expert. I'm sure others with more knowledge will chime in.

I think that considering the time frame (1920) they grabbed what ever barrels were available to make the gun.

Thanks for the advise about the ammo - 2-1/2" shells it will be.
