Why would a double gun have 2 different chamber lengths? I saw one at the Denver show that was maked 65 on the right bbl and 70 0n the left..Anyone else ever seen anything like that? I dont rememberthe maker, cuz I paid little attention at the time...

I once passed on a documented 20 gauge Winchester 21 with the right barrel 2&3/4" and the left 3". Probably a mistake to pass on my part.
The only reason I could surmise was the purchaser only wanted to use 2&3/4" for his first shot and 3" for the second for pheseant going away shots?-Dick

They do make the odd mistake at the Proof House. Probably picked up the wrong die stamp. Mistakes are rare but I have come across them from time to time but this is the first missmatched chamber length stamping I have heard of. I have had the odd one with the nominal bore mark missing and seen 2 1/2" chambers marked at 3 1/4 Tons. Lagopus.....

LD don't know you well enough to tell but coming from Kansas I'm inclined to give you the benefit of a doubt.
