I have a Westley Richards .500 NE double rifle built in 1920 and sold to F.T. Baker & Son London. I have seen a few guns for sale by Baker, but have no information about them. I would like to get more information if possible. I think that they might have been like Manton & Company and brokered other manufacturer's guns.

I sold a Frederick T baker shotgun about 10 years ago in 12G and it had a London address as I remember. The google users should sort it out I would guess.

Frederick T. Baker took over the business of Thomas Kerslake Baker at 88 Fleet Street Stonley, London in 1857, moved to 21 Cockspur Street, SW, London 1882-1898. Then back to 88 Fleet Street and 29 Glasshouse Street, Regents Street, W 1899-1900. 29 Glasshouse Street 1901-1913. FT BAKER, LTD. 1913 recorded at 64 Haymarket 1913-1916. Westley Richards succeeded to the business in 1913. FREDERICK T. BAKER, LTD. removed to Grange Road, Bournebrook, Birmingham 1916-2000. (WESTLEY RICHARDS succeeded to the London business in 1913, kept it going there until 1916 and then registered it at their factory address. They still own the name). BRITISH GUNMAKERS VOLS I & II Nigel Brown.

Hope This Helps. Best Regards, George

I have an F T Baker SLE with the Glasshouse address in London. It has the Acanthus scroll engraving ala Holland and Holland including the curved name signature as in the Royal. It has London proof marks. I remember reading somewhere that one EJ Churchill apprenticed in Baker's shop.

Just found the reference, it was in McIntosh's Best Guns book. Churchill apparently managed the shop before founding his own shop.
