When you take it to the gunsmith make sure to tell him that your brother, son or significant other took it apart. The other excuse is I took it apart for your inspection, sorry only help I can give you is excuses.

The question is; What the hell were you thinking?
Take it to a gunsmith that actually knows what he's doing.

I used to hang around an old gunsmiths shop and every once in awhile someone would come in with a paper sack of parts and the action/barrels for him to figure out.Cured me of any attempt to take something apart I wasn't sure of how to put together again.

Go slow, be patient, youl figure it out. None of them are that complex.

Thanks for the advice guys. I think i found a real winner as far as as books go and this one might actually help or it may not. The exploded parts diagram catalog is ok but the drawing for the model 24 is quite crude and doesn't really help much but it still is a cool thing to have.

I remember taking apart my 20 gauge Win model 24 and I was d#amn glad when I finally got it back together and it work! It was easier taking apart (see I never learn) a Colt 1883 hammerless than the Win. 24.
