I know this is the farthest thing from shotguns, but I have a Unertl 2" target scope, complete with rings and caps, I want to sell. I acquired it in late 1971 and it was mounted on a big bore target rifle, since sold. I paid around $150 for it, which was a fair amount of change in those days. I know there are individuals who sell them on EBay, but I thought I saw somebody out on the web who deals exclusively in them. There is gun show February 12th through the 14th that I will be attending. It is the one in Chantilly, Va. I may take it with me, but I have a feeling that dealers will try to get it away from me for less than what is worth, which I feel would be in the neighborhood of around $800 to $900. Any ideas?

Yeah, I have an idea. Offer it for sale for about half of what most dealers offer them for sale, and you will sell it rather quickly. There are many of them out there for sale but few sell. I exhibit at the Chantilly show and would be willing to purchase your scope or let you put it on my table with a reasonable price tag. I am not a dealer, but I could use a good Unertl. By the way, I have never sold a Unertl, every one I have ever owned is on a gun. Good luck.

I will be there 12 Feb. What is your name and the name on your table, so I can find you?

http://unertl.alexweb.net/for_sale.htmHis prices are high, much like Riffle and Winchesters. But you can get an idea. Also look on Gunbroker. Ignore auctions with no bids. Sam

You might try listing on BBS single shot and rifle section.

It depends on what power it is.

I contacted the guy who has the link and he said he would pay me $700 for it, sight unseen. His name is Dewayne Greiner and he lives in Cyrus, Minn. I would have to send it via UPS. Any ideas? I am a little bit leary about sending something like this, as I do not have a packing box for it. I know UPS operates packing stores, but I wonder how good they would be in packing it so it doesn't bounce around. I am still planning on going to the gun show, 12 Feb., at Chantilly. Please let me know what you think.

IMHO If it's a 30x $700.00 is too cheap.
