Im looking for some information about Neumann & Cie, fron Belgium.
There was three Neumann shotguns in my family, I have my fathers 20 Ga, my brother in law have a 24 Ga and one of my cousins have a 28Ga IIRC.
Any info would help as I can not find much on Internet.
Thanks
Martin

Martin,

To my knowledge, no one has written a book about Neumann. The more general books about the gun trade in Liege have little about the firm.

Thanks again Pete.
They made very good guns, with incredible engraving.

This is the belly of my fathers well used 20ga.

Martin,

You see Belgian guns that were only intended for the South American market. Guns that are never seen in the US or Europe.
The Belgians were very aware of this market and catered to it. Please do post more pictures and educate all of us.

Here are a batch of Belgian flintlocks awaiting shipment to South America, circa 1925. Obviously meant as trade guns to native populations.

Im not an expert, but i cob¿nsider this a fine gun, not a "british best" certanly.
I love them as I began hunting with a little 24Ga Neumann, almost a twin of this one.

This is the 20Ga I inherited from my father:

A very nice gun from 1926. I like the griffin engraving.

I also admire that bold style of engraving.
