I have a 28", SG, SF, DT, 3x wood PIF RBL-12 on order and the wait is killing me. I'm also going to buy a canvas case for the gun with accessories as I'm not fond of the impact plastic case that comes with the gun. I spoke with Adam and he offered to build it as a lightweight gun with max weight of 7 lbs. Given some early feedback on the RBL-16, I'm a bit concerned about weight but have confidence that CSMC will work with me if they are unable to meet the max weight.

Anyone have any feedback on RBL-12s ordered in similar configuration and received to date? Is the weight at 7lb?

Thanks,
David

Have a 12 ga, pg, with 30" barrels and 3X wood. Weight is about 8 3/4#. I don't know where they could cut a couple of pounds out of it.

I have a 32" ordered. Straight grip and splinter. I talked with them about weight and they said they would try to bring it in around 8 lbs. Sure hope they manage this. I've also got the 4X wood ordered.

I was told last week that my gun is in final inspection. We'll see how long it takes to deliver. I ordered 32" barrels and BT so I expect the gun to be well over 8#.

The owner's manual that came with my RBL-16 mentions a "balance compensation system" in the 30-and 32-inch RBL-12s. Is that like the big hunk of lead in the stock of a Model 12 Heavy Duck?

Well I'm pretty sure he mentioned building the gun as a "lightweight" configuration using the scaled frame and lighter barrels. I hope that it's 7lb - I don't need an 8lb+ SxS as I already have a clays and waterfowl gun.

I'm just gonna hold my breath and wait and see.

Craig -

Was it you that wrote about the stock on a 16 ga. RBL? If it was, can you say how do the 12 ga. stock dimensions compare to those of the 16 ga.?
