I have a Colt New Service that has been sleeved by Sedgley and so-marked to .22 Long Rifle. Are there any other Sedgley pistols out there?

I've quite a few Sedgley pistols from the 1911's converted to .22 the more common Colt SAA converted to .22 Hornet. I don't remember a New Service is this a flat top target or?

This one has been for sale for a long time and suspect at that price it will be a while before it's sold.

Paul,
That would have to be one of the heaviest .22 Revolvers around, does it have adjustable sights added?

Post a picture if you can, sounds interesting.

This past weekend at the Allentown show I asked Mike Kokulus about taping up an original stock to protect it during the copying process. Quoth Mike, it won't work, has been tried, the stylus catches on the edges of the tape and it's a big mess.

The CNC process appears to be applicable to the manufacture of anything from micro-machines to parts for a steam locomotive. This site abounds with beautiful digital photographs of classic stocks. At a very basic level, the pixels that make up those beautiful photos are no different than the measurement data used to develop the commands that control CNC machinery. We can produce 3-d models of the surface of Mars from digital data. It should be well within our technological capabilities to devise a method for reproducing a classic stock without marring or even touching the original.

A Sedgley Springfield in .22-Hornet showed up in town yesterday and I was able to buy it. For those who have not seen a Sedgley Hornet conversion here are the highlights. The rifle is missing the magazine cutoff, a side mount has been removed and the Lyman 48 is gone plus it’s very dirty. The good news is the stock is sound and the bore is perfect. I have it all apart so when it’s more presentable I’ll take some pictures.

I cleaned up the stock on the Hornet, installed a magazine cutoff, replaced the broken off front sight bead and installed a Lyman 48 (thanks Bryndon). I have not yet decided what to do about the missing G&H mount I’ll wait until I shoot it and go from there. Still have some cleaning to do on it but looks like it’s going to be a nice rifle.
