I seem to remember that there is a difference between early and later manufactured Fabbris. What is it exactly; what is the cut off point (in date or serial number) and what is the approximate price differential? Thanks

The early ones had Phoenix steel tubes and they had some failures. This holds down the value of the early models. It is marked on the tubes.

Thanks, but Phoenix barrels aside, isn't there a difference in the actions, workmanship or something that makes the earlier guns less desireable?

Fabbri and Perazzi used to be partners. They produced a sidelock SxS. Production ceased shortly after Fabbri left. These guns were the Perazzi DHO model. Could that be what you are thinking about.

Best,

Mike

The following does not apply to Fabbri but might interest you. Some time ago I saw a high end named gun offered for sale at much less than current prices. I sent the maker the SN asking for informations about the gun. Here is the reply with some deletions:

"The gun...is one of the first we made. At that time we bought parts from an Italian supplier and assembled them....I couldn't find any news about that gun....It was built years ago...."

You might want to contact the maker for information about the gun in question.
