I sold my Stevens 311A .410 a few months ago for $425 It was not checkered and finish was probably 75 to 80 percent. I priced it at $500 but couldn't get an offer over $425.

NONE of those basic 311 variants or other Savage/Stevens (Sears, Montgomery Ward,....) are worth > $400. I would not pay more than $350 for any gauge even if the thing had: original box, papers and packing materials.
When I can pick up Manufrance #208 (a better gun in every way) in VG shape for about $600 why would I want one of Savage/Stevens tools. I'm not that.......

Fin- and others- thanks for the info- I am not gonna buy it, even if it were at $250-just curious. I think you are right about the barrels being 26"_ I picked it up a few times, but didn't measure the barrels- Owner said it's $550 in his shop to anyone, or it stays on the rack. Walnut stocks-not checkered, black buttplate, I would rate wood and blue as 99%- both bores minty- he said it has 3" and in his opinion, the Stevens made for the Sears J.C. Higgins trade name were better fitted and finished- when did Sears stop selling shotguns and rifles in their catalogs? My guess is 1968 era-anyone know- and if anyone wants to contact Brad about this shotgun, let me know and I'll send along his phone number- did the same thing a few weeks ago for a gent on this BBS in PA-re: some M42's I saw in another gun shop. I like they way small gauges look and handle-but I'll stay with my 12's!!
